It did worry me a little, but the tire was strong enough to keep the screw in place and I completed the trail without a problem. These are GREAT off-road tires! I took a group up Imogene Pass in Colorado, and one of them asked me if it worried me that a rather sizable screw was poking out of my tire. Reviewer: A User from (Pagosa Springs, CO) Great Off-road, NOT for winter driving ON-road Thse tires are gonna cost me 1500 in damage on the jeep. All that being said I lost it going 40 mph on ice and rolled my jeep last week if you will be driving on ice DO NOT BUY THESE tires they provide 0 traction on ice. I have had a little death wobble but not convinced it is the tire. Have these on my 06 TJ loved them they look great and peform well, as far as tread life I drive 100 miles one way to work and they are holding up very well. Nasty on rocks though- not bad in mud when new and lugs are still deep. Also suffered from extremely bad traction on ice, enough for me to worry about just rain. I've also ran a set of load range E in 245/75/R16, lasted 80,000 miles and still had tread. just downright dangerous after 1/2 worn on ice, the lugs get wider as the wear down. The load range C version will wear fast and balance terribly once they get under 1/2 way worn. They are very loud now and my truck shakes when I go around 70mph. The tire tread only last around 12,000 miles!!!! Yes, you read that right 12,000 miles! I called their customer service after the second sidewall spilt and they were rude and wouldn't help. This should of been a free replacement due to a manufactures defect. They replaced the first one for free and made me pay a pro-rated portion for the second tire. I had the sidewall spilt on 2 tires within the first 6 months. I bought put 285/70/17 tires on my Ford F150 EXT 4X4 and wished I never bought these tires. I will return to the BFG ATs, particularly with the improved sidewall strength and snow performance in their new KO2s. This has served me well in the past and I will continue this routine. Incidentally, I'm a firm believer in tire rotation & balance with alignment and do this every 3,000 miles. While I don't expect the mileage one would get out of an AT, I do expect better than this, particularly for the price. The not so good: I have 21k on this set and 2 of the 4 tires have worn considerably more than the other 2, one is down to 1/16th so all 4 will be replaced now even though the 2 better tires still have more than half their tread left. For the good: I didn't find these to be excessively noisy given the tread design, very tolerable and not really noticeable at my road speeds of 60-65 mph I thought their traction in packed snow and icy conditions was on par with the tread design traction and durability elsewhere was way above average. I have a 2013 1/2 ton Ram 4x4 and this was my first, and likely last, experience with MTRs. This review is the subjective opinion of a JeepReviews user and not of. Yes, expensive and currently the inventory sets at 79 nationally for this particular size. I have a 2012 wrangler unlimited and am considering buying my second set. I disagree with rotations unless you balance them each time, as it causes steering pull/wobble each time you rotate until the tread wear adjusts to the vehicle position. 25" tread depth and am thinking I can go another 5k miles. I currently have 43k on them and still have. Never overinflate or overload a tire beyond its maximum capabilities listed on sidewall.Reviewer: A User from (Ventura, CA) Always refer to vehicle owner's manual for recommended tire pressure settings. does not warrant or make any representations regarding the accuracy of or the results of the use of this information.
